Security Gating
Two tastefully designed security gates, adorned with our Grouse logo, are located on Grouse Ridge Drive near its intersections with Mountainside Drive on the east and west sides of the community. These gates are automated through the Grouse Mountain Estates phone system utilizing a speaker phone located on the driver’s side of the car at each gate. There are a variety of ways to open the gate. Each owner will be given two electronic transmitters which can be used from the car to open the gate as it is being approached. When access is desired by a visitor, the automated speaker phone at the gate displays the names of all residents. When one is selected, the phone automatically dials the owner who can easily open the gate by pushing a number on their home phone. A third way to open the gate is by assigning a temporary four digit access code for someone to use. Only the Grouse Mountain Estates Owners Association will be authorized to assign and monitor these codes.

Home Security
In accordance with the Technology Installation Guideline, each home should have a complete security system installed. This system may be programmed to dial an outside security firm, the Whitefish Police Department, or another home phone in the event of a detected security breach. While crime in Whitefish is extremely low compared to larger U.S. cities, a security system is highly recommended, especially for seasonal or vacation homeowners. The home security system, recommended by the Owners Association, can be accessed by any phone worldwide to check on the security status of your home.

Whitefish Police and Fire Departments
Since Grouse Mountain Estates is located within the city limits of Whitefish, the police regularly patrol the community during the day and make at least two patrols through all the streets every evening. Grouse Mountain Estates is located less than 2 miles from both the city police and fire departments. The city of Whitefish has been designated Class IV by the Insurance Services Organization, one of the safest classifications given by this group. This means that Grouse Mountain Estates owners will enjoy very low fire and theft insurance premiums.
